Scholars, lawyers, elected and appointed officials, students and animal advocates convene in Baltimore, Maryland, at Westminster Hall on April 22, 2013, to engage in an academic and regional-based symposium on current issues in animal law.
Established by Gary C. Norman, Esq., Past Chair of the Animal Law Section of the Maryland State Bar Association, and Joshua L. Friedman, Esq., Deputy Chair of the Symposium, the purpose of the 2013 Symposium on Animal Law is to provide a lively, intellectual forum in which to discuss law and policy issues related to animals in the Mid-Atlantic region. "Maryland has a strong and emerging voice on legal and policy issues respecting animals; within the academic institution, within the legislative arena, and of course, within government," said Mr. Norman. He also said, "As such, it is an apropos time in the history of the Animal Law Section to host a forum on these issues."
